BACK OF HOUSE STAFF

Brewery Ommegang is seeking individuals for the summer high season for the Tap House Back of House. Positions include Cooks and Dishwashers. Qualified candidates will have kitchen experience, be able to stand for long periods of time and have a flexible schedule including holidays, nights and weekends. High season is typically early May through early October. Come learn alongside experienced cooks who have a passion for the food they produce and the beer that goes with it! 

STORE STAFF

SUMMARY
Brewery Ommegang is currently seeking committed individuals for part-time Store Staff positions in our Tap House. A passion for customer service is a must and a love for craft beer is a given!  Candidates must be personable, trustworthy and enthusiastic. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. repeatedly. This position requires you to work nights, weekends and some holidays. 
 
DUTIES: 
  • Welcome and engage with customers as the enter store
  • Restock merchandise as well as beer as needed
  • Work with cash registers and process payments
  • Assist customers with any questions 
  • Recommend specific beers to customers
  • Clean throughout the shift as well as at the end of the shift
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 
  • Able to work a flexible schedule 
  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or qualified experience required 
  • Retail experience a plus 
  • Professional appearance and demeanor 
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds 
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours a day 
  • Weekends, holidays and evenings required

FRONT OF HOUSE STAFF

SUMMARY
The Brewery Ommegang Tap House is looking for happy and energetic people to add to our stellar team! Positions include: Servers, Hosts/Bussers, and Food Runners. Qualified Server and Beer-tender candidates will have restaurant experience. All positions require standing for long periods of time and have a flexible schedule including holidays, nights, and weekends. They will also love our beer! High season is typically early May through early October.

HOST/BUSSER
As a host/busser you will be responsible for greeting and seating all customers to maximize dining room space and wait staff effectiveness.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Greet Visitors in warm friendly manner
  • Seat customers in an even rotation
  • Maintain a café wait list
  • Answer general information questions
  • Answer Café phone and field calls to necessary personnel 
  • Assist in bussing duties
  • Maintain café bathrooms
  • Maintain clean work area and equipment
  • Assist servers and/or front of the house lead when necessary
  • Properly take customer to-go orders and enter into POS system  
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under high pressure situations
  • Ability to work at a fast pace
  • Ability to continuously lift 25 lbs 
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, including holidays, nights and weekends
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Work with integrity, enthusiasm and possess good work ethics
FOOD RUNNER
Food Runner responsibilities include setting tables, serving food orders and removing used dishes and utensils. If you’d like to gain experience in the restaurant industry and learn how to provide an excellent dining experience, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will ensure our guests have a high-quality dining experience by serving their food in a timely and accurate manner.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately 
  • Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff 
  • Communicate food orders to chefs and pay attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies) 
  • Assist the wait staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins 
  • Serve welcome drinks and hors d’oeuvres, upon guests’ arrival 
  • Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature) 
  • Check in with customers and take additional orders or refill water, as needed 
  • Remove dirty dishes and utensils 
  • Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items 
  • Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check) 
  • Make sure families with young children get kids menus and special silverware sets 
  • Making sure all plates are set up properly with correct sauces and garnishes
  • EOD clean up duties 
  • Learn as much beer knowledge you can with no consumption
  • Keeping all stations adequately stocked 
  • Take pride in every single job you do 
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED  
  • Experience as a Food runner or similar entry-level role in a restaurant 
  • Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules 
  • Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours 
  • Availability to work various shifts, including weekends 
  • Multi-tasking abilities 
  • Good oral communication skills 
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment 
SERVER
The Server provides table service to restaurant patrons by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that patrons have a pleasant dining experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Greets customers as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided. Including wobbly tables and tidy floors
  • Discusses the menu and beer options
  • Answers questions regarding the menu
  • Takes food and beverage orders and delivers them to the kitchen (input in to toast)
  • Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers
  • Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to customers’ satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen
  • Collects plates and clears the table as customers finish their meals
  • Prepares customers’ checks and collects payments
  • Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Heavy cleaning post shift
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately
  • Ability to operate point-of-sale systems
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age
  • Previous experience as a server preferred
  • Must successfully complete restaurant’s training course
  • TIPS training (provided)
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently
  • Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
Compensation: $10.00 - $18.00 per hour
